How cara bristol started writing erotic stories

 1. 1. How Cara Bristol Started Writing Erotic Stories
 2. 2.

It has to be fault of Lora Leigh. If that name doesn't ring a bell, she is a very known and fruitful erotic romance novel writer. I got to know of her some years ago, when I read “Forbidden Pleasure,” part of “Bound Hearts” series, in which women partake in ménage a trois relationships.
 3. 3. The moment I read this, I wrote fiction, and few sex scenes did end up in my books. However, I never wrote erotic romance, and I never had the idea I will be writing it.

 4. 4.

“ Forbidden Pleasure” didn't come first, but I haven't read many similar books before that, but it was one of the first ones I have read, and it was a quality work. It was also the first that had gay otk spanking in a sex scene if I recollect well. The spanking itself wasn't a very big part of it, it was just a small, pretty out of the context appearance, but id did arouse my attention, and rise my interest.
 5. 5. I did know before that the people did enjoy this kind of thing, but it never came to my mind how much heroes can get real feel by using this method. Most spanking scenes I have come upon before were rather uninteresting, and didn't really bring any kind of a real impact on the reader and their view.
 6. 6. Let's go to the year 2009.

 7. 7.

Romances that had powerful, dominant heroes, and heroines drawn to them always took my attention. That gave me an idea to make a novel about a successful woman that goes to a job interview. She is so enamored by the boss she drops everything she believes in and thinks of herself just to please him.
 8. 8. And that is how “Intimate Submission” came to be.
 9. 9. This probably influenced me to include all these acts into novels and write about the use of sex toys, anal sex and spanking.
 10. 10. Intimate Submission started of as a project for fun, but as I was writing it, it started to seem more and more as something I could actually sell. So once done, I needed a publisher who publishes erotic romance. Black Velvet Seductions drew my attention, and the editor, Laurie Sanders, was looking for novellas to put into the “Spanking Wives” series.

 11. 11.

So, “Intimate Submissions” was a great read for the series, right?
 12. 12. Well, not really. She wasn't very happy with the ending. However, she did consider the work to have potential, and offered me the chance to rewrite it and make it more in accordance to the needs.
 13. 13. Naturally, I did so, and the work became public. It was published in October 2009.
 14. 14. Spanking itself in “Intimate Submissions” had mostly erotic cause, but I wanted to make it more of a disciplinary thing, and also wanted to try myself in ménage. That is why “Secret Desires” came out. In “Secret Desires,” I have used punishment as a method for the main female character and male character to interact better and take their relationship further.

 15. 15.

After publishing in July 2010, the idea of the domestic discipline as the way of life came to my mind. It was the perfect idea, that didn't leave me alone, and I have dropped everything else and wrote “Spanking Melania”. The first draft is done, but it is not ready for publication, and I hope that it will be well received and go out about the end of September.
 16. 16. I did realize that I didn't know enough and assumed too much, so I had to conduct a research. The wide range really wowed me, as I figured out it really runs from the domestic Christian discipline, to porn, and everything in between.

 17. 17.

I did learn new things, but I was happy that I actually managed to portray the feelings, the emotions, the thoughts of husband and wife in “Spanking Melania” quite correctly, and write it naturally and real.
 18. 18. This is how all started. Right now, I am thinking about the sequel, but the original deterred me from two works in progress. So, we will see.
