Painted Narthex, Doors, Fellowship Hall and the entire Lower Level

Increased our welcome by remodeling the Narthex and entryway into fellowship Hall

Re-roofed the entire building, and copper clad our cross.

Installed Safety Rails on front steps

Almena United Methodist Church is a people united by faith in Jesus Christ Who honor heritage and tradition with an eye on the future and Who welcome all to walk/grow with us in Christ. We worship God joyfully, Care for others; Witness to God’s accepting love; And grow in fellowship with God and with each other. In spite of some awfully snowy Sundays, we increased our average attendance at Sunday School to 36. With an average attendance at Worship of 74 , that’s roughly 50% in Sunday School. Our mid-week bible study averaged 12 in attendance.

2 Adult Baptisms, 2 infant baptisms, and 7 new members received

1st Holy Humor Sunday, April 19th, extended the Joy of Easter Sunday with laughter and beach balls

We held worship services at area nursing homes

Worshiped with the Paw Paw Community at Maple Lake

Provided Thanksgiving Baskets, Christmas Boxes, Toys and Clothing to local missions

Helped a family whose house burned

Mens’ group – Repaired and re-roofed Crawford Cabin at Crystal Springs Camp

Gave 12 % of our 2009 income to Mission on top of our ministry shares which were paid in full

AUMC provided workers to re-hab Eleanor’s Pantry and many volunteers who staffed the pantry

Generously Supported Paw Paw’s United Christian Services with money, time and talent.

Handy-Hands Helpers assisted members of the community with household projects

Relay for Life Outreach

Sent 7 campers to UM camps

Provided 4 funeral luncheons to the community

Paid Ministry Shares in Full

Ran the Alpha Course

3 Soup Suppers raised funds for building improvements and mission projects

Petting Zoo and Pony Rides

Started a new Youth Group

Monthly Potlucks

Kings Baseball Game

After church fellowship snacks

We give God thanks and celebrate the seeds He's planted, the relationships He's grown, and the work He's accomplished through the Almena church in the past year.

Developing principled Christian leaders for the church and the world

Creating new places for new people

Engaging in ministry with the poor

4 Stamping out killer diseases of poverty by improving health globally

We join with the greater United Methodist Church in focusing on four areas of growth:
