  2. 2.      Dr. Deborah (“Deb”) Lavin Colky was a pioneer in online learning and a consultant to global corporations on human performance issues. Deb was a professor and Director of the Training and Development Graduate Program at Roosevelt University. Deb was a long-time Chicagoland ASTD (CCASTD) Board member and was one of the first – worldwide to receive the ASTD Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP) on April 1, 2006. Sadly, Deb passed away on Jan. 22, 2007. In honor of her spirit and legacy, the Dr. Deborah Colky Workplace Learning & Performance Student Award was created. Eligibility Requirements  Must currently be enrolled in a degree program that is related to workplace learning and performance and planning a career in this field.  Must reflect the qualities that Deb was best known for, including being passionate about organizational development, people-centric, & humanistic.  Must commit and contribute time to the local community, in Deb’s name, by actively participating in events to promote raising visibility of the workplace learning & performance and the Chicagoland Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (CCASTD) through the end of December 2014.  Must reside in the Chicago area.  Application Deadline: November 10, 2013 Visit www.ccastd.org to learn more or apply! Recipients will receive the following during the CCASTD Holiday Party:  One-time cash award of $1,000.00  Commemorative plaque  One year membership to CCASTD  The opportunity to have one article published in the professional magazineTraining Today *The CCASTD Holiday Party takes place during ASTD Employee Learning Week (ELW) which is a global awareness campaign highlighting the important connection between learning and achieving organizational results.
