  • What is SLItech project?
  • SLItech’s aims:*Provide a PD plan focused heavily on providing system leaders with a coaching and mentoring model to support the work to integrate technology in the instructional process. *A cascade model of PD will also aim to help school-based administrators to develop staff capacity.  *Division leaders will learn how to utilize and leverage insidePSD as a major vehicle to collaborate, communicate, find and access information as part of the process of integrating technology into the instructional process.
  • SLItech’s outcomes:We will have a shared vision of what effective technology integration looks like at the division, school and classroom levels. Each site will have a knowledgeable and skilled team to promote and support technology integration.Divisional and school leadership capacity will enable continuous improvement in technology integration throughout the school division.Technology will be viewed by students and staff as a tool to support learning. The Scholaris Learning Gateway will be accepted and used by key stakeholders (administrators, staff, students and parents) as a responsive and reliable learning, communication and collaboration environment.Students will be better prepared for life after high school.
  • A critical thinking and assessment activity – fill out a vocabulary chart. Originated from Peace Wapiti School Div and shared on Jan. 12th, 2010 by Wally D. to the AISI cohort group.Have posters up on wall. Divide into six groups with each group in charge of ONE section. All group members input information using the stickies found at your table. (Can use a laptop if needed.)
  • This movie project was created to inspire teachers to use technology in engaging ways to help students develop higher level thinking skills. Equally important, it serves to motivate district level leaders to provide teachers with the tools and training to do so.
  • One of the Admin tech integration strategies – use of insidePSD as a collaboration/sharing/discussion area.Show the SLITech project site – what it can do, used for….possibilities for other Centre for Ed departments.
  • Another Admin tech integration strategy - How can we turn up the H.E.A.T.?Watch Cookie monster video.
  • The urgency to turn up the H.E.A.T.as portrayed by Gary Knell and Cookie monster the H – E – A – T - in student learning using Teach 2.0 methodologies has never been so critical.
  • http://etherpad.com/rAAh5k34Px They can answer the question in up to 6 groups (same as beginning of presentation): Are we challenging today’s interactive generation to think, solve problems, and apply their learning? Give examples.
  • Book Study: Using technology w classroom instruction that works
  • Within the BOOK :Admin strategy - thinking about H.E.A.T. while using a variety of instructional strategies.
  • YEAR 1 – learning about and working with identified strategies for technology integration while simultaneously developing leadership skills that support SLItech members in taking the information back to their staff. We are also looking at whether the implementation strategy was successful or not and why.
