  3. 3. Satyamev Jayate is an Indian television talk show that aired on various channels within Star Network along with Doordarshan's DD National. With Hindi being the primary language, it was also dubbed and simulcast in other languages such as Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu. The show highlighted sensitive social issues prevalent in India such as female foeticides, child sexual abuse, dowry, etc.
  4. 4. The concept of the show was not revealed in the Indian media until the show officially went on air on 6 May 2012. However it was mostly referred as a talk show discussing social issues like child labour, health problems and other issues. Commenting on the theme of the show, Aamir Khan said, "The show is about meeting the common man of India, connecting with India and its people."

The show highlighted the adverse effect of pesticides on people's health and the environment. • Episode 9: Think before you Drink The show highlighted the issue of alcoholism in Indian society. • Episode 10: Dignity for All The show discussed the social ills of casteism and untouchability • Episode 11: Sunset Years, Sunshine Life The show discussed the conditions of senior citizens.

Several media organizations praised Aamir Khan for his effort and described the show as a movement. Whereas, some critics felt that the format of Satyameva Jayate has to be more profound, and the big problem of the show is that it is on predictable lines. Some critics even requested Aamir Khan to bring in some raw energy to the show.

This shows that Satyamev Jayate is evoking people to discuss socially sensitive issues.  Satyamev Jayate is being compared with the Oprah Winfrey Show.  Satyamev Jayate is being abbreviated to SMJ expressing the shows popularity.  People are also discussing the change it can bring in the society.
