  • 1. Photo two-Soldiers Who are the people in the photograph? Soldiers What is the situation of the people in the photograph? Provide evidence from the photo that tells you this. They are taking it easy at base camp. Some of them don’t have their shirts on and others are smoking. None of them have their helmets on. What message do you think the photographer was trying to convey? That even though these soldiers are in some sort of war or battle situation that they can still relax a little and get along with each other. Why is this photograph important to history? It shows that even in a bad situation they can still smile. What questions does this photograph raise? Where are these soldiers at and what are they fighting for? Write your own caption for the photograph: “No matter how hard times can get there’s always something to smile about.” What could you do to find more information about this photograph? Look up the history of where this photo was taken and who it was taken by. Based on what you have observed list 3 things you might infer from the photograph 1- Even in an impossiable situation you can stll be happy. 2- Joing the service is like joining a family. 3- Everyone needs down time.
