design for mobile web some pointers

so is mobile web just a stripped down version of the classic web?

to an extent its true but its not just that

how many devices, resolutions and browser behaviors to target?

i don’t have a clue!!

low speed low memory no common std for rendering inconsistent browser behaviors what not?

so what to do?

think out of the browser

think device capabilities & usage behavior

the phone already has a community built in

india sends 5 billion sms per day

calendar, camera, music player

everything related to mobile is about multi tasking

when you multitask, you snack think twitter

the phone is always with you

so is the most personal thing

personalize the service

most possible scenarios should be corner cases

timing is key remember ipl was not mobile friendly

i know sms but do i really have a mobile internet connection?

make sure the service makes sense to someone on the road

if it doesn’t, don’t even attempt
