  • 3. EF-12 Defining “One Part”
  • 4. On what "modification of one part" entails EF-12 Motion 500 Character models 5 Background model 2 Skillset documents 6 2D 100 Effect 15 AI 6 BGM 3 The elements of EF-12 that can be modified are as displayed above. Motion 500 Character models 5+1 Background model 2 Skillset documents 6 2D 100 Effect 15 AI 6 BGM 3 In this example a single original character model has been added. This set now counts as 'original'. Motion 499+1 remodeled 2D 100 Character models 5 Background model 2 Skillset documents 2 Effect 15 AI 6 BGM 3 Editing distributed materials instead of creating original content from scratch is also fine. However in this case the amount of changes becomes an issue. Please see the next slide.
  • 5. Definition of Modifications In the case of Motion → created from scratch → Fully original motion Entirely original Model for motion → created using officially distributed model → Fully original motion Considered as entirely original Sample motion → changed high kick to middle kick → Modified motion Recognized as your original creation Sample motion → extended the number of frames → Modified motion Recognized as your original creation Sample motion → increased movements of punch etc. → Modified motion Recognized as your original creation Sample motion → only changed the filename → Modified motion Is not your original creation Our definition of what is acceptable for motion modifications is relatively broad. We consider taking distributed data and changing it to be an entirely acceptable practice. This is also true for effects.
  • 6. Definition of Modifications For Characters / Background models → Created entirely by yourself from scratch→ Fully original model Entirely original Official skeleton → model created using officially distributed skeleton → Fully original model Recognized as your original creation → Official model → Official model → → Official model Redrawn textures → AND Changes to model shape → Redrawn textures → OR Changes to model shape → → only changed the filename → Modified Model Hard to measure, but acceptable as long as the content is over 50% changed. Modified model Case-by-case, but unless the changed element is 90% different, not acceptable. Modified model Is not your original creation It is difficult for us to assess model originality as they are attached other content. For this reason we believe unless both textures and model shape have changes it is not acceptable. This is also true for 2D.
  • 7. Definition of Modifications For SE/BGM → Entirely original content → Original sound Entirely original Official SE/BGM → Effects added → Changed SE/BGM Is not your original creation In the case of music and sound effects, please create your content entirely from scratch. Recommendation for distributing modified versions We ask that you use the latest version of EF-12 wherever possible when distributing the game with edited contents. EF-12 Original data Newest version We ask you update your distributions whenever EF-12 has a major version update.
