    •  When you share the gospel, expect objections and questions. ◦ Prayer dialogue with the Holy Spirit ◦ Listen closely ◦ Don’t be shocked by what you hear ◦ Watch your reaction ◦ Clarify if needed ◦ Don’t be afraid to say, “I Don’t Know.”
    •  Is it an open or closed objection? ◦ Observe body language ◦ Facial expression ◦ Demeanor ◦ Tone Open? – Proceed wholeheartedly Closed? – Proceed with caution
    •  Is the objection genuine? Is the objection an indication of conviction? Is the objection an attempt to distract? Is the objection a “Stump the Christian Question?”
    •  Exposure Objections Worldview Objections Emotional Objections Willful Objections
    •  These objections arise out of the lack of exposure to the gospel message Easiest to deal with Examples ◦ If a person is sincere, God will accept them ◦ I am a good person Answering these questions may not lead to conversion – planting seeds
    •  These objections arise out of a difference in the way people view the world ◦ Materialistic ◦ Different Religious Background Examples ◦ Science has disproven the Bible ◦ I am a Buddhist ◦ Religion is the cause of all the evil in the world
    •  These objections usually come out of a person’s experience Examples ◦ The church is full of hypocrites ◦ You’re no better than I am ◦ I tried Christianity before and it didn’t work Emotional objections are often very personal and must be handled gently
    •  These objections arise out of the will and a refusal to turn to Christ Easy to answer but hard to convince Examples ◦ I am not ready yet. ◦ You are forcing your beliefs on me/judging ◦ I don’t talk about religion Present and pray
    •  Here is one of the best ways to deal with objections… Ask the Question… WHY?
    •  Do find common ground if possible Do present Jesus in the power of the Spirit Do use questions frequently Don’t argue Don’t chase rabbits Don’t ruin it for the next guy Don’t get discouraged
