  • Guidelines for Effective Homework Online Assignment - Your Homework help partner We’ll be glad to help you. Mail: homework@onlineassignment.net Website: http://www.onlineassignment.net Live Chat : Available 24*7It is not unknown for a student to fail to complete a homework assignment, after all thereis so much more to do than just homework. Many things keep students from finishing, orsometimes even doing, homework but procrastination coupled with the lack of reasonableplanning is the major factor as to why it doesn’t get done. Good study habits demand thatyou work to eliminate these problems. Here I present eight guidelines for effectivehomework for students to follow once they get serious about learning.Write Down all Your AssignmentsMemory is a tricky thing. The very worst evidence against a person accused of a crime isthe eye witness who must rely on memory. Now some people have a photographicmemory, but they are few and far between. Most of us need reminders of things to do sopeople make things like to do lists, shopping lists, anniversary lists and birthday lists toremind them of important events and things they must do.Homework assignments not written down are homework assignments that are forgottenor the details are fuzzy and misinterpreted. Writing down the assignment, including the
  • details of the assignment and the date it is due is a sure fire antidote for the trickymemory.Estimate how much time you must allot to the TaskSome assignments are due the next day, some in a week or two weeks or maybe even in amonth. If an assignment is due tomorrow then it makes sense to get right to it, get it outof the way. But, say the assignment is due in a weeks’ time and you estimate that it willtake 5 hours to complete. You are then ready for the next step.Determine your available TimeYour assignment is due next week, in seven days. You have a part time job after schoolthat takes four hours of your time every Monday, Wednesday and Friday as well as sixhours on Saturday. That is 18 hours taken out of the time available to do homework. Anadditional two hours are taken up by travel to and from school and your job and you needat least an hour a day to eat dinner. Let’s say that leaves you with six hours of free timeevery day to squeeze in homework and social time.Prioritize your Assignments by Due DateYep, do the ones due immediately first but don’t fail to work on the assignments that aredue in the near future as well. By prioritizing your assignments you make sure that theyall get done on time every time.Break your homework time into Workable SegmentsLawyers do it, accountants do it, in fact anyone working on a clock does it. They dividethe hour into workable segments. Lawyers and accountants do it in 20% segments or 12minute time slots. I like that for homework because it builds in a 12 minute break everyhour you are working. You can also decide that you are going to assign units of timeinstead of minutes of time, four units somehow feels shorter than 48 minutes.Schedule Regular BreaksI already mentioned that the unit concept leaves room for scheduled 12 minute breaksevery hour. Make sure you take them. They not only help maintain sanity, your workwill be better for it.Stick to your Plan!Once you make a plan, stick to it. No matter what happens, stick to the plan. Oh, I guessyou could make an exception for an earthquake or tornado but, in the absence of some
  • kind of natural disaster over which you have no control, do not alter your plan withoutmaking alternate plans.Share the Plan with someone ResponsibleStudents through high school should share their plan with their parents or guardians. Imean, lets fact the facts. If something more attractive than doing math homework, mostnormal kids will jump at the opportunity. By sharing your plan with a responsible adultyou have someone there who will call you out when they think you are trying to escapeyour responsibility. Let them! It will help you stay on the proper path for success. There are, naturally, some benefits to setting up a homework plan. Not the least of thesebenefits include the ability to learn a skill that you will use for the rest of your life, theskill of personal time management. More immediately, however, making and using ahomework plan represents good study habits and is a step toward assuring success inschool which is a stepping stone to success in life.
