Samsung dumps four new digital cameras
By Peter Ha
Samsung just dropped four new digital cameras: HZ10W, TL100, SL102 and SL420.
The HZ10W is a 10.2-megapixel shooter with a 24mm ultra-wide Schneider lens and
10x optical zoom. There’s both optical and digital image stabilization. And it shoots
720p video at 30fps with the usual H.264 compression. Look for it this month with a
$300 price tag.
The TL100 is thin at 16.6mm and features a 2.7-inch LCD, 3x optical zoom and a
brushed stainless steel body. The 12.2-megapixel shooter features Smart Auto,
which automagically selects the best scene mode based on the environment you’re
in. Crazy. This puppy won’t be coming out till the Spring.
Rounding out the new cameras are the SL102 and SL420. Both feature 10.2-megapixel sensors, face
detection and rechargeable Li-ion. The 102 comes packed with a 2.5-inch LCD, Dual Image
Stabilization, 3x optical zoom and records MJPEG/VGA video. The 420 has a 2.7-inch LCD and shoots
MPEG4/SVGA video. Both the 102 and 420 will make a Spring time appearance.
