Social Media Omelet - Presentation Transcript

    1. SOCIAL MEDIA: THRIVE ON CONNECTIONS
    2. OMELET STRATEGY SOCIAL MEDIA MAKING THE CONNECTION Social media is not just about interactive communities. It’s about harnessing the interactions that people share within those communities. It’s about exchanging ideas, cooperating and collaborating to nurture and build relationships. Essentially, social media is all about connections. 2
    3. OMELET STRATEGY SOCIAL MEDIA AT THE CENTER OF IT ALL In fact, social media thrives on connectedness. We create connections in communities formed around our common interests. Within these niche groups, social media gives us the strength to contribute and be a part of the stories on our own terms. 3
    4. OMELET STRATEGY SOCIAL MEDIA PART OF THE PICTURE After all, people want to be a part of the stories. We are motivated by the support of others and seek to be included in the dialogue. 4
    5. OMELET STRATEGY SOCIAL MEDIA GOODBYE DISRUPTION, HELLO INCLUSION In this new age of participatory media, it’s no longer about interrupting people to get their attention--it’s about including them in a conversation that they actually want to join. 5
    6. OMELET STRATEGY SOCIAL MEDIA THE HUMAN TOUCH To be inclusive and positioned as a natural part of this social culture, it is important for brands to personify themselves and adopt human characteristics. In order to do so, brands can adhere to four different rules of ‘social engagement’ that resonate with people and foster the brand’s acceptance into their lives. Being inclusive means that brands must be: Sociable, Interactable, Discoverable and Shareable. 6
    7. OMELET STRATEGY SOCIAL MEDIA RULE OF SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT #1: BE SOCIABLE Being sociable requires an understanding of the audience and knowing what is important to them. Regardless of whether the environment is real or digital, people will welcome you to be a part of their conversations IF you can add value to them. 7
    8. OMELET STRATEGY SOCIAL MEDIA RULE OF SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT #2: BE INTERACTABLE People also welcome interactivity and the ability to experience something on a deeper level than conversation alone. Being interactive adds depth to engagement and simultaneously builds the relationship between a person and a brand. 8
    9. OMELET STRATEGY SOCIAL MEDIA RULE OF SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT #3: BE DISCOVERABLE Just as people are social creatures, so too are we creatures of discovery. Social media is a way for brands to drive people to discover more about them. As a brand, you can inspire them to join your conversation by luring them to branded applications or by connecting them with content to help evolve your brand’s story. 9
    10. OMELET STRATEGY SOCIAL MEDIA RULE OF SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT #4: BE SHAREABLE If people like what they find, they’ll share it. In this highly connected environment, people are more than willing to pass along a great experience that you provide them with IF it enhances their communication experience, rather than dictates it. 10
    11. OMELET STRATEGY SOCIAL MEDIA THE INCLUSION EQUATION SOCIABLE And when all of these rules of social engagement are met, the result is an equation yielding results that are + more powerful than click-throughs or impressions--the result is people embracing your brand because they INTERACTABLE want to, not because they have to. + By helping your brand become sociable, interactable, discoverable and shareable, we can leverage the power of social media to include people DISCOVERABLE rather than disrupt them. + SHAREABLE 11
    12. OMELET STRATEGY SOCIAL MEDIA A MARKETER’S DREAM The result? An aspirational brand selected BY consumers for their own personal enjoyment that fits seamlessly into their lifestyle. 12
