What Happened? <ul><li>On September 11, 2001 the United States was attacked by international terrorist. </li></ul><ul><li>4 planes were hijacked by 19 extreme terrorist. </li></ul><ul><li>Over 3,000 people were killed in the attacks. </li></ul><ul><li>People everywhere mourned the loss of innocent civilians however, some danced in the streets celebrating the attacks against America. </li></ul><ul><li>Click to view a Timeline of Events </li></ul>Quit

World Trade Center <ul><li>The Terrorist choose the WTC’s because it was a symbol of American Capitalism and power. </li></ul><ul><li>More than 50,000 people worked in the towers. </li></ul><ul><li>More than 200,000 tourist visited each day. </li></ul><ul><li>150,000 commuters used the subway stations in the towers. </li></ul><ul><li>WTC generated $110 million a year in profit. </li></ul><ul><li>29 countries had trade offices in the towers. </li></ul><ul><li>Signs were posted at the top of the building that told visitors the building was “designed to withstand airplane crashes”. </li></ul><ul><li>First skyscraper in the world destroyed by terrorist. </li></ul><ul><li>On Sept. 11 the building was 95% full. </li></ul>Quit

Bush. </li></ul><ul><li>The U.S. attacked Iraq and Afghanistan. </li></ul><ul><li>Main targets being Osama bin Laden who has not been captured and Saddam Hussein who was captured, tried, and hung. </li></ul><ul><li>The “War on Terror” still continues. </li></ul>Quit
