  • 2. Why the Story of Joseph? <ul><li>Joseph's story is quite appealing to me. I always liked reading the story Joseph (Yusuf) in the Qur'an. </li></ul><ul><li>The story itself is loaded with lessons about human nature, morality and wisdom. It also makes the reader curious to know more about old incidents and believes. </li></ul><ul><li>It is a way to create a kind of rapprochement between the different religions. </li></ul><ul><li>Text Source: Qur'an (English and Arabic versions),Other Islamic books that tell the story of the Prophet Joseph. </li></ul>
  • 3. Used techniques: <ul><li>E-book Cover: I have designed a layered background by using PhotoShop. Also, I created an &quot;ENTER&quot; button for the reader to click on and start navigating through the story from the cover page. </li></ul>
  • 4. Used techniques: <ul><li>Background: I have created the e-book's background by using Photoshop. </li></ul><ul><li>I made sure that the background would accommodate navigation signs (buttons). </li></ul>
  • 5. Used techniques: <ul><li>Divider Background : Created in PhotoShop. Each divider consists of the same basic background </li></ul><ul><li>signifying picture was added in the middle, according to the meanings of each part of the story. </li></ul>
  • 6. Used techniques: <ul><li>Text Styles: used InDesign CS for creating different text styles in the </li></ul><ul><li>e-book: </li></ul><ul><li>Headings , Headers, Qur'an verses (English), Main text body, Title. </li></ul>

Navigation Buttons: <ul><li>Menu Button: I have used the head that is in the background as a menu for all the story pages. </li></ul><ul><li>The menu has the following topics: C over/ page /P age of Contents /A ll major parts in the story /F ind /C olophon page. /P revious view /Q uit. </li></ul>
  • 8. Navigation Buttons <ul><li>Next and Previous Page Buttons : </li></ul><ul><li>Right and left sandals (Old style sandals). </li></ul><ul><li>Zoom and Bookmark options : </li></ul><ul><li>Fancy icon made of a thread bookmark and a pair of fancy glasses. </li></ul>
  • 9. Navigation Buttons <ul><li>Text Buttons: The English Qur'anic verses are buttons that enable the reader of viewing the original Qur'anic verses. </li></ul><ul><li>Hide & Show action was used to show and hide fields. </li></ul>

Used Software: <ul><li>PhotoShop: Creating all pictures, icons, collages, and the design of the Arabic verses. </li></ul><ul><li>InDesign CS: for placing the text, text style, content page. </li></ul><ul><li>Adobe Acrobat 6.0 ME professional: All buttons, actions and page links. navigation interactivity. </li></ul>
  • 11. Multimedia <ul><li>Sound: the sound of book page turning. </li></ul><ul><li>Video movie: produced in Arabic, with English subtitles. Embedded in the end of the book. </li></ul>
