Searchers tend to rely more on
organic search results than generic
search results…and more reason why
you should try and rank your websites
among organic search keywords.
There are different types of organic
keywords, this topic is beyond the
scope of this presentation.
When you perform a search query on a
particular word on Google you will see
the quantity of website Google will
supply for that keyword.
Now filter the supply for websites that
target the keyword phrase as their
keyword, so you apply quotation
marks within your search and take
note of the supply e.g “KEYWORD”
The number of site display is the
quantity of your competitors/supply.
Next step is to get the quantity of
searchers/demand for the keyword.

GOOGLE’S KEYWORD
RESEARCH TOOL
Use the Google’s keyword research
tool to get the quantity of demand for
your keywords.
“How to use the tool is highlighted in
one of the traffic videos”.
When selecting your country you can
pick the world or your local country,
this depend on who your services or
products appeals to, is it a local service
or a worldwide service?
Next select the search for global
monthly search or local monthly
search.
You will notice the search results for
that particular keyword in an entry
table…if you cannot get a query for
that result, then it means there are no
enough search to provide data for the
keyword.

Please note that Google also present the
volume of competition for the search query
you are doing your keyword research for,
this data is useful for adwords campaign.
The KEI compares the number of
searches for a keyword with the
number of search results to pinpoint
which keywords are most effective
for your campaign.
The formular for KEI is Searches *
Searches / Number of results.
Suppose the number of searches for
a keyword is 486 per month and
Google displays 214,234 results for
that keyword. Then the ratio
between the popularity and
competitiveness for that keyword is
486 * 486 divided by 214,234. In
this case, the KEI is1.10.
The higher the KEI, the more
popular your keywords are, and the
less competition they have. That
means that you might have a better
chance of getting to the top of the
search results.

The higher the KEI, the more popular your keywords are, and the less competition they have.
