OWASP Japan ■Following 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, online security risks faced by sites supporting recovery effort brought increased focus to importance of web application security ■OWASP Japan local chapter activities officially started in 2012 Chapter Leaders: Riotaro OKADA, Sen UENO Advisory Board: 12 members (industry- & education-related specialists, etc.) ■OWASP Nights held approximately once every 3 months Total participation as of March 2013: over 1,500 participants ranging from developers, researchers, information governance managers, marketing specialists, etc. ■Over 10 companies involved in financial and venue sponsorship ■Approval to host 2014 OWASP Global AppSec APAC (Asia-Pacific) received on May 1st, 2013
