  • 1. 4 Wisdom From A Laugh 157 Marry Me An elderly widow and widower were dating for about five years. The man finally decided to ask her to marry. She immediately said "yes". The next morning when he awoke, he couldnt remember what her answer was! "Was she happy? I think so, wait, no, she looked at me funny..." After about an hour of trying to remember to no avail, he got on the telephone and gave her a call. Embarrassed, he admitted that he didnt remember her answer to the marriage proposal. "Oh", she said, "Im so glad you called. I remembered saying yes to someone, but I couldnt remember who it was." Reflections * Dementia and forgetfulness are not only the afflictions of old people. Younger people today also are lacking in mindfulness. * The mind has to be trained from young in terms of mindfulness. We need to care for the brain and mind functions with jealthy mental activities and hobbies …right from a young age.
  • 2. Wisdom From A Laugh 158Family BusinessA very successful businessman had a meeting with his newson-in-law. "I love my daughter, and now I welcome youinto the family," said the man. "To show you how muchwe care for you, I am making you a 50-50 partner in mybusiness. All you have to do is go to the factory every dayand learn the operations."The son-in-law interrupted. "I hate factories. I cant standthe noise." "I see," replied the father-in-law."Well then youll work in the office and take charge ofsome of the operations.""I hate office work," said the son-on-law. "I cant standbeing stuck behind a desk all day.""Wait a minute," said the father-in-law. "I just made youa half-owner of a profitable corporation, but you dontlike factories and wont work in a office. What am I goingto do with you?""Easy," said the young man. "Buy me out."Reflections* Does the younger generation today, starting on theircareer tend to be choosy and not willing to struggle andtake up challenges.* Many today want easy work, lots of freedom and highwages but are unwilling to ‘toil and sweat’.
