    • AmeriCorps (VISTA)
      Volunteer In Service To America
      • Created in 1964 as part of War on Poverty
      • 7,200 members serve each year
      • VISTAs collaborate with low-income individuals and communities to fight poverty
      • Focus on capacity building: raising funds, recruiting volunteers, and designing sustainable programs
      • More than 1,300 project sponsors
      • Full-time year-long service
    • Ohio Campus Compact
      OCC seeks to promote student and institutional engagement and public service that: 1. Stimulate a statewide culture of social commitment and responsibility throughout higher education.
      2. Increase the extent and quality of co-curricular and curricular community service, service-learning, community-based research, and numerous other forms of engagement on college and university campuses.3. Build the capacity of member campuses to establish, maintain, and strengthen mutually beneficial partnerships with local communities.
