  • 1. Sienkiewicza Street
      • Sienkiewicza Street in Kielce is the main commercial artery of Kielce, Poland.

  • 2. History
    • The early street began at the end of the
    • seventeenth century. At that time, Kielce had
    • about 1500 permanent inhabitants. In 1823, the
    • present Sienkiewicza Street was built, on the
    • initiative of Marian Potocki.
    • Sienkiewicza street had its beginning next to the
    • Leonarda square, while the other end led to
    • nowhere.
    • Marking out another part of today’s Sienkiewicza
    • Street resulted in the inflow of Jewish to Kielce.
  • 3. The Jewish
    • The main place where most Jewish citizens lived was Rynek (Square) and surrounding streets such as sw. Anny (St. Anna), Kilinskiego and Waska.
