  • 4. Underground Aquarium Academic Project Second Year plans 5 Proposal of an Underground Aquar- ium in Guadalajara´s downtown. The main challenge for this proj- ect was to settle the difference in depths of the different pools mak- ing them accesible for both the visi- tors and the Aquarium´s curators. This issue was solved by present- ing all of the pool surfaces at the same level, disregarding the deep- ness. The rest of the building was project meeting the standars of the 3 Association of Zoos & Aquariums. Street Level Basement 1 Basement 2 a-a´ b-b´ c-c´ d-d´ e-e´ f-f´ sections 05

  • 13. La Bodega Built Project -Zamora, MéxicoBuilt and used as a Warehouse for almost three decades,La Bodega (as known by its owners) had been caught in ahighly populated area. The initial proposal included 5 one-room apartments, butdue to a restringed budget, the project evolved into a 3units building. As the project was ignited and being already in construc-tion, some economic issues affected the owners, havingto work on an even tighter budget. The total transformation cost, from the 28 year old ware-house to the ready to rent apartments, was near $1,500,000MXP (around $130,000 USD).All 3 apartments are occupied. 23

The North Façade was de-signed in order to avoid thegraffiti painters in the area.Upon site observation, it wasconcluded that only that fa-çade was exposed to them, since a Federal High School islocated upstreet. The façadeincludes a green wall (recentlyplanted in the picture) and see-through garage doors. Until 27now, the design has been com-pletely sucessful in this subject.
