  • 1.
    • STEP 3: MONITORING
      • Swim along the 25m transect allocated to your team and count fish
        • Remember to count only on 2m belt
        • Timing is crucial and needs to be 10min. Record start and end time in hr-min-sec format
      • Check your data sheet to make sure all is complete
      • Swim back along the transect line and count long spiny sea urchins (no need to keep time)
  • 2.
    • STEP 5: PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
      • Meeting at the Palapa to add all information into one data sheet for the site
      • If possible, input data into computer database
      • Comment on monitoring, outcomes and experiences
    • STEP 4: RETRIEVAL
      • Wait and make sure researcher has completed your transect, before you attempt retrieval
      • Only retrieve materials if you feel comfortable
      • Carry materials back to the boat
      • Check all and everyone is onboard
      • Return home
