    • Enhance capacity and capability of School Leaders
      • Leading in curriculum development and customisation
    • Build more synergised CoPs

  • 3. Overarching NZ School Based Curriculum CoPs framework
    • Leverage on existing CPDD PETALS framework
    • Supportive School Leadership is key to successful curriculum improvements
    Supportive School Leadership Platforms to raise capability and capacity of School Leaders in the area of curriculum development and customisation Student-centred
  • 4. Communities of Practice (CoP)
    • School curriculum teams
      • comprise of School Leaders and Curriculum Champions of NZ School
    • Take ownership of their professional development with shared common interests and practices
    • Networking and synergy , anchoring on ground-up and school-based curriculum innovations
  • 5. Multimembership Learning Cycle
    • Knowledge to be shared, applied, validated and documented
      • when they return back to their respective Schools as School leaders and as Curriculum Champions
    • Dual role of CoP members
      • Community Practitioners
      • School team members
  • 6. Curriculum Knowledge Domains
    • Curriculum Design
    • ICT Integration
    • Assessment Alternatives
    • Professional Development: Lesson Study
    • Models of teaching: Problem-based Learning (PBL)
    • Each CoP will be assigned a CoP consultant
      • Facilitate learning through on-site visits
  • 7. Milestone events for 2009
    • Official Launch of NZ SBC CoP
    • Wed 18 Feb 2009, 2 pm
    • For selected schools - team members & sponsors
    • Mini-NZ Learning Symposiums (NZLS)
    • Sep 2009
    • Each CoP will share their consolidated learning or research findings
    • See Annex A
    • NZ Curriculum CoP Monograph I
    • Comprises the research papers of these (estimated 25 schools) in various 5 Curriculum CoPs
    • NOTE : The annual NZ AR Symposium and call for papers for publication as in the past will cease this year. Schools are encouraged to field in their papers for international conferences such as ASCD, APERA, etc
