13,137 trees mulched (a 14% increase from 2007)
Total of 31 chipping sites and an additional 52 drop off sites across all five boroughs

Mulchfest 2008 provided New Yorkers with a convenient and free opportunity to recycle their Christmas trees into “mulch” for personal use.
