    1. Mulchfest 2008 Saturday and Sunday, January 5 th and 6 th , 2008
      • Highlights
      • 13,137 trees mulched (a 14% increase from 2007)
      • Total of 31 chipping sites and an additional 52 drop off sites across all five boroughs
      • Media coverage of event included The Today Show , The New York Times and NY1
      Mulchfest 2008 provided New Yorkers with a convenient and free opportunity to recycle their Christmas trees into “mulch” for personal use.
