    • To enhance the skills-set of our current staff by conducting a skills audit at NQF 4 and facilitation of subsequent skills programmes linked to the gaps identified per site.

  • What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
    • RPL is about recognising all the learning that an adult has gained over a period of time. It does not matter how the learning was acquired – short courses, on-the-job learning and hobbies can all be used to demonstrate that learning has taken place.
    • The learning must be assessed against either a registered qualification or against registered unit standards. Only a registered Assessor can assess the learning and award credits.

    • Access into a formal qualification at a higher level than you would normally have accessed.
    • Partial credit for a qualification – which will shorten the time that you need to complete the full qualification.
    • Full credit for a formal qualification.
    • To identify individual gaps that will be addressed through coaching .
    • To identify site gaps that will be addressed through skills programmes.

  • Learning Paths Existing Admin Controllers  Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)  Competent Receive Accreditation OR Not Yet Competent Train towards the Identified Gaps New Admin Controllers  Foundational Learning Programme  Achieve Workplace Competence And Attend Relevant Skills Programmes  Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
  • RPL Process will Expand over a Period of Six Months Maximum
    • Maximum 4 days training provided by our Partnering Training Provider where
    • applicable
      • -Training can be scheduled on off days and/or weekends
      • -Training can be provided off or on-site
    • Two days (in 3hr sessions) to attend the necessary assessments and coaching in 5
    • separate workshops, the first workshop being 5 hrs.
    • Candidates will be briefed to work on portfolios of evidence
    • Maximum one and a half hours to consult eligible perm staff and sign necessary
    • contracts.
  • What will our Staff get at the End of the RPL Process If the Assessor assesses them to be Competent, based on the Unit Standards outcomes, then they will be awarded a certificate by the certifying body. This will also be recorded on the National Learner Records Database (a national registry of all certificates issued). If the Assessor does not assess them as Competent, they will be given a report identifying the areas that they need to address before certification can take place. They may be awarded a Certificate of Competence for individual unit standards.

    • Competent Learners will need to achieve a minimum of 128
    • credits at the NQF Level 4 to achieve Certification

    • On achieving this qualification, the learner will be able to:

    • Maintain an information system
    • Process numerical and text data
    • Receive, distribute and dispatch mail in an office environment
    • Receive and execute instructions
    • Process incoming and outgoing telephone calls
    • Behave in a professional manner in a business environment
    • Attend to customer enquiries
