  2. 2. <ul><li>General Rules </li></ul><ul><li>4 players on the court maximum </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Including a goalie </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Minimum number of players to avoid a forfeit is 4 </li></ul><ul><li>Games will consist of 3 periods, each 12 minutes long </li></ul><ul><ul><li>There will be 1 minute between periods </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Mercy Rule: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>a team leading by 7 goals in the 3 rd period will automatically win </li></ul></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  3. 3. <ul><li>Building Rules </li></ul><ul><li>Absolutely no Skating through the Marino Center Lobby or Hallways </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Take off skates before leaving the sport court. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>No cell phones allowed upstairs </li></ul><ul><li>No bags of any kind allowed upstairs </li></ul><ul><li>No grabbing the basketball rims </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Offenders will be ejected from the facility </li></ul></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  4. 4. <ul><li>Required Player Equipment </li></ul><ul><li>All players must wear a helmet with a full face shield. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Players must bring their own. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Players must bring their own hockey stick. </li></ul><ul><li>Players must have hockey shin guards, elbow pads, in-line skates and gloves </li></ul><ul><li>In-line skates will be without a brake or any brake assembly. </li></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING

  6. 6. <ul><li>Required Goalie Equipment </li></ul><ul><li>Goalie equipment will not be provided by the Campus Rec department. </li></ul><ul><li>Goalies may not switch during a period. </li></ul><ul><li>Goalies may not cross center court. </li></ul><ul><li>Offensive players may not enter the crease unless the ball is already in that area of play. </li></ul><ul><li>Goalies may stop play by covering the puck. Goalies are only permitted to cover the puck in the area between the near face-off and the back wall behind the goalie. </li></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING

  8. 8. <ul><li>Unsportsmanlike Penalties </li></ul><ul><li>Players receiving any combination of 3 penalties (except high sticking) will be ejected from the game and the facility. </li></ul><ul><li>Major penalties, misconduct penalties and game misconduct penalties </li></ul><ul><li>will all result in the player’s ejection. </li></ul><ul><li>Penalties from the bench will be assessed to the team’s captain. </li></ul><ul><li>This is a NON – CHECKING league. There is to be no intentional contact </li></ul><ul><li>between the players. </li></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  9. 9. <ul><li>Unsportsmanlike Penalties </li></ul><ul><li>Sticks cannot be lifted above the crossbar at any time. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Goal keepers may not lift there sticks above the crossbar. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>A stick check that results in a high stick will result in a penalty against the </li></ul><ul><li>player committing the stick check. </li></ul><ul><li>Broken sticks must be dropped on the spot immediately </li></ul><ul><li>A team accumulating 6 minor penalties during one game will </li></ul><ul><li>automatically lose the contest as a forfeit. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>This does not include non-contact penalties like High Sticking </li></ul></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  10. 10. <ul><li>Slashing & Hooking </li></ul><ul><li>Slashing </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Players must attempt to play the ball with their stick </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Any player using their stick to slash an opponent’s body or stick will be assessed a slashing penalty. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Hooking </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Players may not hook or attempt to hook an opposing player with their stick. </li></ul></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  11. 11. <ul><li>Roughing and Checking </li></ul><ul><li>Roller Hockey is strictly a NON – CONTACT sport </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Players cannot intentionally make contact with opposing players </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Intentionally contacting an opposing player will result in a minor, major </li></ul><ul><li>or game misconduct penalty. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The severity of the penalty will be at the judgment of the official </li></ul></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  12. 12. <ul><li>Holding, Tripping & Interference </li></ul><ul><li>Players may not impede an opponent from progressing in play. Players </li></ul><ul><li>using their hands or sticks to hold a player will be assessed a penalty </li></ul><ul><li>Interference will be called when a player obstructs an opponent’s </li></ul><ul><li>movement that does not have possession or control of the ball. </li></ul><ul><li>Players using their body or stick to trip an opponent will be assessed a </li></ul><ul><li>tripping penalty. </li></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
  13. 13. <ul><li>Player Behavior and Bench Decorum </li></ul><ul><li>Only captains may confer with the official at any point during competition, however, neither they, nor any other player is permitted to question a judgement call. </li></ul><ul><li>Any players taunting or arguing from the bench area will also be subject to penalization. </li></ul><ul><li>Any player leaving the bench to protest or otherwise dissent against an official's decision shall be immediately ejected from the competition and the facility. </li></ul>MANAGER'S MEETING
