    • LIKE A BIRD UZUPIS ANGEL . Damaris V and Karen S Teacher: Nuria de Salvador
    • 1. What’s its name? The monument is the angel of Uzupis
    • 2. Where is it located? It is located in Vilnius, Capital of Lithuania, situated in the old streets of Lithuania in a central square called Paupio.
    • 3. When was it built? On April 4th 2001
    • 4. Why was it built? It was built to replace the monument that was before the sculpture of the angel was put in place; a temporary sculpture of an egg. The egg became the subject of much talk, and there are many anecdotes attached to it.
    • 5. What was happening on the country-village on those years? The egg was removed to make way for the largest statue, the egg was sold at an auction for 10,200 litas.
    • 6. What does it represent? In the republic of Uzupis sometimes is called republic of the angels since it is intended to symbolize the revival and artistic freedom in the district.
