  3. 3. Planning <ul><li>Regional and local planning is an vital prerequisite to success. </li></ul><ul><li>Planning demonstrates strong community support. </li></ul><ul><li>Planning shows various alternatives/options have been explored and explains the rationale for the proposed choice. </li></ul>

Planning <ul><li>Planning explains how various conditions (environmental, social, zoning/land use, historic preservation, etc.) will be addressed as part of the proposed project. </li></ul><ul><li>Sound planning gives confidence to funders that your project will use funding wisely. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Partnerships <ul><li>What groups (natural affinity) will be supportive of your project? </li></ul><ul><li>Are the groups’ objectives closely aligned to consider a joint project? </li></ul><ul><li>What groups might be supportive, that are “outside the box”? </li></ul>
