What’s Go Green ? <ul><li>A social movement centered on a concern for the conservation and improvement of the environment. </li></ul><ul><li>Founded in 2002, the Go Green Initiative unites parents, students, teachers and school administrators in an effort to make real and lasting changes in their communities that will protect children and the environment for years to come. </li></ul>
  • 6. Will it save me any GREEN ? <ul><li>Did you know that the average home spends about $2,200 on energy bills every year?. </li></ul><ul><li>What if you found out ways to cut the cost in your home? </li></ul><ul><li>As simple as adding dimmers to lights and a change of a light bulb. </li></ul>

What can I do? <ul><li>What you can do </li></ul><ul><li>Turning of your lights in one class room for one hour can keep two pounds of pollutants from the environment </li></ul><ul><li>Buy compact florescent bulbs, it costs a little more but you use a quarter of the energy a normal light bulb uses </li></ul><ul><li>To reduce phantom energy, unplug electronics or buy several power strips </li></ul>

  • 9. Green Efficient Energy <ul><li>The Purpose of Green Efficient Energy is to render regular , active, volunteer services to the community at it relates to going green and energy conservation. We accomplish that goal by providing education programs, and workshops to all walks of life. </li></ul><ul><li>Mission Statement Green Efficient Energy works in partnership with communities everywhere, from all walks of life, to teach and demonstrate the need of conserving energy and building a Greener World.  </li></ul>

Creating Comprehensive workshops and Awareness Programs <ul><li>The programs would consist of useful tips to conserve energy in the home simple enough for young students to grasp, such as turning off a light when they leave the room. </li></ul><ul><li>The program would also have a component to allow students to learn about the way their families use energy. </li></ul><ul><li>Also included in this program would be education about renewable natural resources. Demonstrations on how the sunlight and wind can be turned into energy would be sure the capture the interest of the students. </li></ul>

Duke Power, Lowe's, Home Depot, to Sponsor the homes. </li></ul><ul><li>Revitalizing and improvements of old 1900-1950s homes to energy efficient and compliant </li></ul><ul><li>Eventually turning it into a tourist attraction. </li></ul><ul><li>The Walk of Green Efficient Homes </li></ul>

Committees In-Kind Donations Committee design to collect donated old appliances and salvage cars.    GEE Kids Place Green Efficient Energy will educate students K-12 through outreach programs.   Festivals and Receptions                                                                   The committee organizes special events and programs.  Educational Programs Works to educate communities and families through educational awareness. The committee is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating this aspect of the program. Finance   Fund Raising To raise sufficient money as determined by the Board of Directors to fund the needs of the organization. Legal To provide a liaison with Green Efficient Energy attorney and monitor the legal needs and requirements of the organization, including insurances. Office Support This group staffs the office, which provides coordination and support for the organization. Public Relations Meets at TBA: To continually improve the community's awareness of our work, recognize our participants, and encourage new donations of time and materials. Volunteer Recruits, interviews, trains and coordinates volunteers to carry out Green Efficient Energy Mission. Green Street Project .
