Slide 19: IE8 New Features • WebSlices – Developers can mark parts of the pages as WebSlices using the hAtom and hSlice microformat. • “Activities” – uses a simple XML format called OpenService. The main functions of an Activity are: • Preview: viewing a mini representation of the service results on hover of the Activity • Execute: opening the service in a new tab when the user clicks on the Activity • Developer Michael Kaply has created a Firefox version of Activities • Daniel Glazman has created WebChunks, a port of IE8's WebSlices feature to FireFox
