Norwood News Issue 31 13th May 2011 Arts Festival Countdown Menu 2 10 weeks to go Week Duddy Shield Football Final at Haig Avenue TERM DATES Congratulations once again to Norwoods A Team for reaching another final! Having played Farnborough already in one final, the boys knew this wasnt going to be an Summer Term 2011 easy task. Well done to all the team for their never say die attitude as they didnt give Half Term: up at any time during the game. A special mention must go to Aaron Rimmer for his Mon 30th May-Fri 3rd heroics in goal yet again and to Matthew Van Sprang-Rimmer for confidently scoring a June superb penalty. As ever, there was amazing support shown to Norwood by children, School closed: parents and staff alike. Thank you. The samba drums even had their second outing! Friday 1st July Our support was so impressive that staff and parents from Farnborough positively (Staff training day) commented too. We are all so proud of the team. Term Ends: Friday 22nd July. Half Term: I am delighted to take this opportunity to inform parents that at the two football finals Monday 13th-Friday 17th at Haig Avenue, the Head Teacher and the parents of Farnborough Road Junior School February were highly impressed with all Norwood children, who represented the school superbly Term ends for Spring - not only on the pitch but in the crowd too. They felt that the children had made it a Break: Friday 30th March at special occasion for both schools. 2pm Good Friday & Easter Monday The Head Teacher of Meols Cop High School has written to thank the Y4 group of fall during Spring Break dancers for their superb behaviour and their beautiful performance at the Community Dance Festival.   3. 3. Return of the Toboggan! Children in the Spotlight Holy Family have brought back the Toboggan Run on Thursday 26th May. Passes can be purchased for £3.50 for 5 goes on the toboggan, £1 per go and 50p per bounce on either of the other inflatables. ROBINWOOD HERE WE COME!Last Friday, Norwood Crescent was lined with parents waving off their children who were headed for Robinwood.Year 4 spent a jam-packed weekend taking part in exciting (and sometimes scary) challenges. Whether they were raft-building, canoeing, crate-building, whizzing down the zip wire with the wind in their faces, or just simply trying to avoidbeing eaten by piranhas, every child, (and teacher), agreed that they had had a brilliant time!
