Y6 Leavers Assembly 9.30am Leyland Rd Methodist Church School closes for summer holiday at 2pm Autumn Term 2010 Children return to school: Year R recently released ten butterflies, here are some of the sentences the children Wednesday 1st September 8.55am gave the teachers about their experience. We watched ten tiny caterpillars grow bigger and bigger. They made cocoons and stayed inside for a few weeks. One day when we New to Reception Children came to school some butterflies had appeared! After we had got ten butterflies we Start part time from took them outside to set them free. When we set them free we had to be very careful. Monday 6th September and full time from Monday When we opened the net they flew out one at a time. We miss the butterflies! 20th September. RP: Lucy Murray (Silver) RT: Keeley Timney On 26th June 2007 Cabinet Members approved a proposal to increase the cost of a RT: Lucy Mercer-Jones (Silver) school meal. With effect from 1st September 2010. They played against Larkfield, Ainsdale St. Johns and Shoreside, beating Larkfield. 6C: Lewis Harwood (Gold) The following children took part: Simon Gradwell, Matthew Howard, Tom Stewart, Jordan Hellawell, Joshua Wright, Alex Nevins, Aaron Richards, Thomas Leddy, Charlie Gray, David Berry, Callum Roughley and Liam Campbell. An enjoyable day was had by all! Thank you to Southport and Birkdale Cricket Club for hosting the event and Asda for their generous supply of food and drinks.   • 3. SUMMER FAIR This is week three of the weeks for themed donations for the summer fair (21st June) Tombola week, items for children and adults please. Please return any Summer Fair raffle tickets by Friday 25th June. Also we would be very grateful if any of you could help out on the day as we are still short of helpers, even itʼs only an hour that you can spare. REMEMBER - Summer Fair - Saturday 26th June 2010 12 noon - 3 pm Shinewaves competition Last week’s competition was to create a new cartoon character. This was a very popular competition with lots of entries. The winner from, 4JP, with an unnamed Samurai character was Jake Pagan. Congratulations Jake. The Magna Carta, one of English history’s most important documents, was signed in 15 June 1215 between the barons of Medieval England and King John. Y3/4 Tennis Tournament SPORTS DAY Our annual Sports Day is due to take place on Thursday 24th June at the following times: Well done to the following children KS2 9.30 am - 11.30 am who represented EY/KS1 1.30 pm - 3.00 pm Norwood in a Tennis Tournament Parents are, as always, invited to spectate and in the finale at the Argyle Tennis of the KS2 event, take part in the Parents’ Race. Club on May 18th. Congratulations! Macy has received Grade A in Modern Theatre & Grade A for Tap in her recent dance examinations. Brilliant! Katy has received Grade B in Modern Theatre & Grade B for Tap in her recent dance examinations. Wonderful! Tia ran 1 mile in aid of Sport Relief. Wow! Grace has passed her Level 7 Gymnastics Proficiency Award. Great! Matthew has passed his Grade 1 water Skills Swimming Award. Well done! Caitlan has passed her 10m Rainbow Swimming Award. Super!
