  • 3. DEFINITION OF INPUT DEVICES a device that can be used to insert data into a computer or other computational device.  There are four types of input devices: i. Texts ii. Graphics iii. Audio iv. Video 
  • 4. Keyboard Input devices (Texts) Barcode reader
  • 5. KEYBOARD  Enter the data such as text and commands into a computer by pressing the keys on the keyboard.
  • 6. BARCODE READER  An optical reader is a device that uses a light source to read characters, marks and codes and then converts them into digital data that a computer can process.

  • 8. DIGITAL CAMERA  A digital camera allows you to take pictures and store the photographed images digitally.
  • 9. SCANNER  A scanner is a device that captures images from photographic prints, posters, magazine pages and similar sources for computer editing and display.
  • 10. Input devices (Audio) Microphone MIDI Keyboard
  • 11. DEFINITION OF AUDIO Is the speech, music and sound effect entered into the computer
  • 12. MICROPHONE  Audio input is the speech, music and sound effects entered into the computer.
  • 13. MIDI KEYBOARD  This can be done using input devices such as a microphone and digital musical instruments like the Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) keyboard.

  • 15. DEFINITION OF VIDEO Video input is input of motion images captured into the computer by special input devices.
  • 16. DIGITAL VIDEO CAMERA  A digital video camera allows you to record full motion and store the captured motion digitally.
  • 17. WEBCAM  A webcam is any video camera that displays its output on a web page.
  • 18. CCTV  A Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) video camera is a type of digital video camera that enables a home or small business user to capture video and still images.
  • 19. POINTING DEVICES A pointing device is another form of input device.  Spatial data refers to data that is continuous and multi-dimensional. 

  • 21. MOUSE  A small plastic box with buttons on top and a rolling ball or optical reader underneath
  • 22. POINTING STICK  A pressure-sensitive pointing device shape like pencil eraser positioned between keys on a keyboard.
  • 23. TOUCHPAD  A small, flat, rectangle pointing device that is sensitive to pressure and motion
  • 24. JOYSTICK  A vertical lever moved to control pointing devices or on-screen objects
  • 25. TRACKBALL  A stationary pointing device with a ball on top or side.
  • 26. GAMEPAD  Is the most common kind of game controller, held in both hands with thumbs and fingers used to provide input
  • 27. GRAPHIC TABLET  A flat, rectangular, electronic, plastic board that is used to create drawings and sketches.
  • 28. DEFINITION OF OUTPUT DEVICES  Peripheral equipment that converts a computer's output to a form that can be seen, heard, or used as an input for another device, process, or system.
  • 29. OUTPUT DEVICES Monitor  Printer  Speaker  LCD projector  Plotter 
  • 30. MONITOR  An output device that visually conveys texts, graphics and video information
  • 31. PRINTER  That prints text and graphics on a physical medium such as paper or transparency film
  • 32. SPEAKER  That produces sound effect, music, speech or other sounds
  • 33. LCD PROJECTOR  That uses its own light source to project what is displayed on the computer on a wall or projection screen
  • 34. PLOTTER  A larger printer that produces high-quality drawing such as house plan, maps, and circuit diagram
