Whether you’re looking for fame, fortune, or both, promoting your applications effectively is a key to reaching your goal. We’re happy to help you get there with your apps for Nokia phones by providing a new suite of online marketing tools, called Marketing in a Box. In this webinar presentation, Kalyan Vadrevu, of Nokia Developer marketing in Silicon Valley, shows you how to use these simple tools. You’ll learn how to create an entire kit of professional marketing assets — including videos, websites, Facebook tabs, and banners — in just one work session.

  • Forget my previous comments. After seeing the live presentation, I found myself impressed. Kalyan, the presenter, buzzed through the first 14 slides in a few minutes as an introduction. Then he went to live demo mode, shared his screen, and walked us through the use of these new marketing tools. He did a very fine job of making each of us feel that we could easily and effectively utilize these tools. The session was very interactive, with many specific questions from the audience and grateful acceptance by the presenter, who also helped develop this marketing tool, MIB, for all of the good suggestions offered for future tool improvement or allowance for more customization. Kalyan gave us just what we wanted. Lots of traction in this presentation. There were not many URL links in the presentation because it was mostly live and just one or two clicks from the home/landing page of the URL on which we began. At the end of the session, we were treated to links to the actual content we had watched Kalyan build. he could not give these links to us earlier because they were dynamically generated by the tool as it compiled the videos. This tool really does showcase the Nokia phones AND shows YOUR app on the screen of the phone, with nice audio/visual to back it up. Several attendees requested the ability to customize even further. These requests were taken as suggestions back the development team for further improvement.
You really CAN be heard and get your questions answered by attending these sessions. There are many knowledgable attendees willing and happy to share what they have learned and point you to the resources you need, even if your questions are tangential or 'off topic' from the presentation.

  • Hello, Kalyan.

Because this slide deck is labeled (Beta), I assume and hope that you are open to a few suggestions.

Slides 3 and 4 are not crisp enopugh to determine what it is, even at full screen with resolution of 1600 x 900 on a 17 inch, wide screen. You may need to eliminate the computer shell and keyboard in the image and simply show the desired content.

Slide 10 would be improved by giving us some live links to the documents discussed.

Slide 12 App Banners image is indeterminate. Why show it at such a small scale that nothing can be determined from it?

Slide 13, same problem as slide 12. We are developers looking for tools and content to help us market. Your images look slick. But, they are unnecessary unless they improve the presentation. We do not need to be entertained. We are here to become educated.

Slide 20. Show us a few of the high definition assets to which you are referring; or show a few live links to them.

Slide 21: Please show some live links to the Guidance you are touting; or at least show us a sample of the guidance and an Idea where it can be found. This information needs to be visually in the slide, in addition to any verbal message. The presentation tools and format (Adobeconnect) make for very rough audio at times. However, the visuals nearly always come through, even on low bandwidth connections.

Slide 23: Please make the link displayed in the image a live link which we can click on to navigate our browsers to the URL shown. The computer screen and keyboard are ok. But, we have all seen them and are much more impressed by actual linked content than by seeing a dead image of someone else's laptop computer. If you want to sell us on using your product, then show us YOUR product. You can keep the computer/keyboard image, but at least add a live link to the URL somewhere on the slide.

Slide 24 should be a repeat of slide 1, complete with your name, so that people can thank you or feel more comfortable asking you questions. We also need to be reminded in this last slide that we came to see 'Marketing In A Box'

I hope that these comments are not taken too harshly. :-)

These suggestions and observations are only intended to help. Please take them in that spirit.

Not having purused the entire audio-visual of the presentation, I cannot know what other things you might be intending to wow us with.

I am sure that this will be a fine presentation and I wish you success.

    Cordially Yours,

    Ron W Hardy
