8. 8. A page from Eleonora Guerini’s diary

21st November 2011

My dear diary,

Today it was my first day here in Bray. This morning I went to school with my friends and it was very nice to walk near the sea.

At 12.20 am, when our English lesson finished, we ate our delicious sandwiches on the beach; after that we took the Dart and we arrived in Dublin.

Firstly, we visited Trinity College, then we saw the Book of Kells, one of the oldest books in the world; here there was a very big library where there were a lot of old books and statues. After that, with our guide David, we visited the GPO (General Post Office) and the Bank of Ireland.

Finally, we took the Dart to return to Bray where there were our host families who waited for us. It was a fantastic day and also the weather was good. Dublin is a really beautiful city!

Kiss,

Stefania

 9. 9. A page from Laura Coppetti’s diary

28/11/2012

Dear diary,

Today, Friday 26th, is the last day in Dublin. We have had a good week, but I am really happy to go back home.

But before leaving we have to visit again Dublin to see the Castle. It has only a tower and a small palace left from the medieval castle. It seems just a manor house, in fact the guide told us that the castle was rebuilt. But it is interesting anyway.

Then we had the last fifty-five minutes to go shopping. I bought everything the other days so I sent my last postcards and I walked quietly, admiring the road. It was already decorated for Christmas. I hated it because I feel sad and homesick. After that we returned to Bray.

The program for the evening was a fast dinner and the dances. But I spent the time taking photos, because I don’t like dancing.

When we returned home, we had to pack and then we finally slept for two hours, because our pick up was scheduled at a 3.15 a.m.!

Laura

What a wonderful view!

After that we caught the Dart at 1.00 p.m to go to Dublin where today we have visited the famous Guinness Storehouse: seven floors and on the last one we had a beautiful view of the town, but unfortunately we couldn't drink any beer!

Finally, we took the bus to go to Grafton Street, where there is the statue of Molly Malone that we studied at school, and we went shopping in the big shops. At around 7.00 p.m we arrived at home where "fish and chips" was waiting for us!

We really had a great time!!

Sara
