  • no2mininginpalawan No to mining in Palawan at No to mining in Palawan When will P-Noy walk the talk. The investors are awaiting his pronouncements on the Extractive Industry. The 'Greens' are awaiting his dénouement from the endless debates in the technical working group. The impacted mining communities want a decision from P-Noy on what is happening in their backyard. The Indigenous Peoples want clarity on the Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) in tandem with their Ancestral Domain claims. The re-vamped NCIP is looking for policy clarity among the conflicting national laws. The Catholic Church is calling for a mining moratorium in order to put order where the environment is being abused at the expense of the common good. The CSOs want the revocation of the EO 270-A, the scrapping of the current Mining Act and the enactment of the new Minerals Management Bill (filed in Congress). The vulnerable and the poor want the upholding of Human Rights and access to their national patrimony of natural resources for their livelihood and intergenerational justice. Last but not least the President is in office for one year and will face the nation in his Sate of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday the 25th of July. The Time to ACT is NOW! 1 year ago
