    • Many Considerations ❖ Number of times keywords appear ❖ Locations of keywords ❖ synonyms of keywords ❖ Page rank ❖ “freshness” How recently page was updated ❖ Does it look like spam or SEO cheats?
    • Unique, Accurate Page Titles ❖ Beware of templates and cut/paste design ❖ These are great techniques, but don’t be careless or sloppy ❖ Accurate ❖ Unique ❖ brief
    • Descriptions & Snippets ❖ when talking about your web page and search ranking, Control is a good thing. (authority) ❖ Example of an auto-snippet (cmdc home page) ❖ meta-description tag gives you more control over your snippet text
    • URLs & Bread Crumbs ❖ Make your site’s folder structure work for your users ❖ This may mean some clean up ❖ Folders on web servers act like 1st order systems ❖ files are only in one place
    • Web Sites = 1st Order ❖ Google says provide only one way to find things ❖ This is not a technological limitiation ❖ Anti black hat seo measure
    • What about 3rd Order? ❖ Microdata, micro formats, Schema.org ❖ coming soon! ❖ There are techniques we can use ❖ Linked data ❖ semantic web ❖ For now: ❖ “Make your site easy to navigate”
