Goulash (plural: goulashes) is a soup or stew of meat, noodles and vegetables (especially potatoes), seasoned with paprika and other spices. Originating in Hungary, goulash is also a popular meal in Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and the north-eastern Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. It is one of Hungarys national dishes.
Paprika is strongly associated with Hungarian cuisine. They use in dishes such as chicken papirkash and goulash. It is used in many spiced meat products like Spanish chorizos. Many Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish recipes use paprika for soups, stews and casseroles. In India, it is sometimes used in tandoori chicken to give it the red colour. It is often used as a garnish for salad, appetizers and eggs. In Spain, paprika is used to flavour shell fish dishes, rice, and season tomatoes and green pepper salads.
SETTING The novel starts off in the modern day, icy-cold January Monday evening. The story spans over a period of two years and covers three consecutive 18 Januaries. PHYSICAL SETTING The story is set in Budapest in Hungary. The main character, John Taylor, and his wife, Andrea, live in a flat in the Thirteenth District. His office is located at Vaci utca. Number 7 Felka utca - The incident of him stumbling upon his doppelgänger happened in front of number 7 Felka utca. The bar is owned by Zsolt. Bar at Gergely utca - where he sees the doppelgänger disappears. The street was flanked by nineteenth and early twentieth century flats that were run down and were ridden with bullet holes from World War II or perhaps the 1956 revolution.

Learns from Mrs. Fischer that a man named Janos Szabo (John Taylor in Hungarian ) has a wife named Andrea and daughter – Kati 18 th January 1945 explosion at the bistro – Budapest’s 13th District As John is busy tracing the doppleganger, he forgets to warn Andrea about the explosion at the basement of the cellar Fateful 18 January – explosion occurred again. Twist at the end …………………

Mrs. Fischer – a little deaf but friendly and helpful woman Janos Szabo – a good family man, not very healthy, became distraught after the tragic death of his wife and child.
