ACTIVITY 5-PPT PRESENTATION - Presentation Transcript

    1. How to Use PowerPoint Effectively
      • Using PowerPoint can be a great tool, however, it can also become ineffective if used incorrectly.
      • There are several tips to keep in mind when using PowerPoint such as:
      • Color
      • Text & Font Size
      • Space
    2. Color & Font
      • Being able to see the content of a presentation is key. Not being able to do so will disengage an audience.
      • Use large font
        • Use large font for titles or main ideas
        • Use smaller font for details, such as graphs or captions
      • Use contrasting colors
        • Dark background, light font
        • Light background, dark font
        • **Take into consideration those who may be unable to see lighter colors, such as red or yellow. Remembering small details may better meet the needs of an audience.**
    3. Consistency
      • Keeping consistent with the format of content in a presentation allows an audience to follow along easily, with little to no distractions.
      • Keep titles the same font size
      • Use the same font throughout a presentation
      • Use the same background on a presentation
        • Having different backgrounds on each slide becomes a distraction
    4. Moving Text
      • An audience should be able to view the text and focus their attention back on the presenter, not be distracted by special text affects.
      • Avoid using text which spirals or zooms in and out of slides.
    5. Space
      • Do not overload a slide with too much content. Doing so can:
      • Distract an audience
      • Lose attention on the presenter
      • Creating visual space allows the presenter to organize their thoughts and give the viewer a visual break.
    6. Clip Art
      • In order to better meet different learning styles, it’s important to include visual representations in a PowerPoint.
      • No matter the type of presentation, students and adults need visual representations in a presentation.
      • This helps break through constant text and allows a viewer to clearly see examples of what is being mentioned.
      Different Learning Styles
    7. PowerPoint in the Classroom
      • PowerPoint is a great tool and resource to use. It allows teachers to better present information to students.
      • It can be used in several ways, like:
      • Lecture style class and notes
      • Picture slide show
      • It is a great aid to teachers during lessons. If used properly, teachers can set an example to students on the use and purpose of PowerPoint presentations.
