Personal mastery and collective intelligence Workshop - February 2012 Personal mastery and collective intelligence Workshop - February 2012 Document Transcript

    • In-Service Seminar
We would like to invite teachers, trainers, instructors, counselors and care workers of all types from all over Europe to the seminar
The overarching aim of this particular seminar is to enhance individual capacity for personal mastery in the context of team learning for the simultaneous benefit of the whole team and each individual member. This 5-day seminar will assist a multi-national European group of adult educators to promote their creative and
professional skills, enhance their personal development, learn new tools and techniques and connect with others in a meaningful way. By actively empowering educators to become master of themselves, they are also actively encouraged to become role models and to encourage others on the same path of self-empowerment.
      Specific objectives:
•Develop their self-reflection, communication and creativity skills and discuss how they can be utilized in educational context
•Learn to work diligently and mindfully to enhance their impact to adult learners
•Develop leadership skills in order to bring about greater leadership skills in others
•Understand how to work with adult learners in a meaningful way
•Help educators understand their own qualities, talents, differences and how they can utilize them in adult education
•Bring greater awareness to the team of what is happening in each moment in the ‘here and now’
•Help participants understand how they can benefit from the collective intelligence and wisdom of the team they are educating
•Learn new methodologies and arts-informed tools that can be transferred to their home institutions
•Introduce participants to working with self-reflective and arts-informed tools in order to increase their awareness and help them instigate desired change in an educational context
•Bring together educators, trainers and coaches
      from different cultures and integrate
      their different capacities and uniqueness.
Prospective participants will receive a list
of relevant study materials along with
websites which are relevant to the content
      of the course.
They will also receive worksheets which
will help them prepare for the course.
The methodology can be broken down
      in three main factors:
1.The use of the facilitator as instrument
      for enhancing awareness in participants.
      2. The use of Gestalt Theory for teams and individuals and
      3. The use of tools and exercises derived from the arts.
Participants will be invited to try out potential solutions through creative experiments. Creative experimenting provides an opportunity to try on new ways of being in the world. By playing out possibilities
for problem solving, we may begin to experience ourselves in new ways.
The methodology of using the arts and Gestalt practice to enhance and develop creativity and awareness is very effective.
Examples of arts-informed tools are the following:
      • Role plays
      • Theatrical games and exercises
      • Writing narratives, stories and poems
      • Constructing pieces of art in groups.
Finally, it is imperative to stress that the collaborative efforts of each individual participant, the team and the facilitator can produce a fascinating process of discovery.
The participants will be encouraged to form a network in order to continue exchange of ideas and support one another.
They will also receive a questionnaire which will help identify what impact the skills learned on the course have on their professional
      and personal life.
There will be opportunity for contact
      with the trainer via email.
