Perhaps the Palestiniian tragedy in Gaza might have been avoided had Gazans used the opportunity to develop Gaza after the Israelis left. Instead they continue to confront Israel militarily in their quest to delegitimize it and ultimately defeat it, both of which they are very unlikely to do. As a father of three children and five children, I cannot understand Gaza’s compulsion to forever fight Israel and sacrifice their young. Until Palestinians accept Israel as a sovereign Jewish state and neighbor, shuck off their governments that avoid this reality, they will never move forward and prosper.
