    • The greatest majority of them have never been offended by the behaviour of locals in a foreign country, or affected by culture shock, or found cultural taboos.

    • GROUP’S END-OF-YEAR TRIP:
    • both groups prefer to go abroad
    • - Spaniards also chose to visit another part of our country.
    • MONEY IS NOT A PROBLEM:
    • Both groups choose to stay in a five star hotel or go on an adventure holiday.
    • MONEY IS A PROBLEM:
    • Dutch and French prefer to go camping somewhere with beautiful scenery
    • - Spanish students prefer to stay at home, read and go to the cinema.

    • The great majority of both groups do not plan to take a “gap year”
    • The few Dutch and French:
    • Are going to travel during the gap year.
    • The few Spaniards:
    • Are not going to travel during the gap year.
  • 16. ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
    • Many people are beginning to travel in many different ways, not just for the destination but for the journey.
    • Some young people travel by public transport (train or bus) or car with their bicycle or just for a walking holiday for the scenery, to enjoy nature.
    • The great majority of both groups has never travelled for these reasons

  • 19. HOLIDAYS IN SPAIN
    • Because of economic, social and political reasons, holidays for Spaniards began at the end of the 60s and in the 70s.

    • They started to own a second home : at the seaside, in their native towns or in the countryside , where they spent most of their holiday time.
    • Spaniards started travelling abroad massively only in summer, usually for a week. Accomodation in hotels

    • Spaniards travel abroad even more often and to other continents, not just Europe, not only in summer but at other holiday times.
    • They stay for one or two weeks.

    • Renting a house is becoming very popular especially with children.
    • - Swapping homes is starting to be popular too .
    • - Also they stay at their second home for the rest of the holiday period
