  3. 3. <ul><li>It is a disease of the heart and blood vessels. </li></ul><ul><li>This is the leading cause of mortality in the Philippines. </li></ul>CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE
  4. 4. <ul><li>Arteriosclerosis - condition that refers to the hardening or thickening of the arteries. </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Coronary heart disease- occurs when coronary arteries are narrowed or blocked. </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Heart attack- an injury to heart muscle caused by reduced blood supply. </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>Angina Pectoris - narrowing of coronary arteries due to heart getting inadequate quantity of oxygen resulting to chest pains. </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>Rheumatic fever- happens when the immune system attacks the heart. </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>Heart rhythm abnormalities (arrhythmia) - the condition when heart beat is not in rhythm. </li></ul>
  10. 10. <ul><li>Congestive heart failure - the heart is not able to pump blood causing liquid to accumulate in the lungs and other areas of the body. </li></ul>

  17. 17. <ul><li>Sarcoma </li></ul><ul><li>Connective or supportive cancers which include muscle, bone, fat, blood vessels and cartilage cancers. </li></ul>
  18. 18. <ul><li>Lymphoma </li></ul><ul><li>Cancers arising in cells of lymphatic tissues or the immune system. </li></ul>

  22. 23. Chemotherapy <ul><li>treatment under medication of anti-cancer drugs which can kill cancer inside the body. </li></ul>
