  • 4.  The Indian state of Punjab was created in 1947.  Akbar : Mughal ruler was crowned in Gurdaspur district of Punjab.. •The Golden throne of Punjab.
  • 5.  The capital of the undivided Punjab province, Lahore, ended up in West Pakistan after partition.  Chandigarh : union territory which serves as the capital of both Punjab and Haryana.
  • 6. •Punjab extends from the latitudes 29.30° N to 32.32° N •Longitudes 73.55° E to 76.50° E. •Due to the presence of a large number of rivers, most of the Punjab is a fertile plain.
  • 7.  Bhangra is one of the many Punjabi musical art forms.  Punjabi Classical music is increasingly becoming popular in the west .

  • 11.  There are no natural forests in the plains.  Mango is largely cultivated in the south-east of the Punjab .  The silkworm is reared with great skill and industry.
