In what ways does your media product use develop or challengeforms and conventions of real media products? We decided to call our final product ‘stalk’. Our final product followsstereotypical thriller conventions. We came to a conclusion to use differenttypes of techniques to conform to a thriller genre.Stalk conforms to a thriller genre as it builds up suspense from the startafter seeing the protagonist running away from a unseen guy. This makesthe audience want to know what is to come next. We also used digeticsounds such as a gunshot which builds up tension- we decided to use thisafter doing market research which include people filling out questionnairesand answering a few questions on what they expect to see in thriller films. We also included non difetic background music which kept the audienceengaged and suspense. In addition to this before we decided how our opening scene would be weresearched into similar products which are already in the market such as ‘inception,4321,This gave us a few ideas of what to include in our own product.Furthermore our product had no dialogue in it however the backgroundmusic allowed the audience to sympathise with the protagonist and get arough idea on what is going on. The background music also kept theaudience engaged with the opening scene as they would have to thinkwhat’s to comeWithin our final product we used pleonastic sound which was the heartbeatwhich contrasted in line ith the credits, this shoed that the teenaged girlwas scared and frightened.
Overall thriller films are meant to engage the audience and make them feelpart of the film. We as a group tried our best to make our final product asrealistic as possible to keep the audience engaged and entertained.
