      Hub Learning Lunch
      19th October 2009
    2. What is Social Media
      Media designed to be disseminated through social interaction;
      use internet and web based technologies to transform broadcast into dialogue;
      = Facebook, twitter, flickr, YouTube, LinkedIn, Ning, Blogs, Friendfeed, Forums, etc.
      19th October 2009
    3. What site should I use?
      Twitter – broadcast, but also conversation; business use.
      Facebook – conversation among friends, trusted contacts; personal use.
      LinkedIn – trusted professional networks.
      Different sites for different audiences – decide based on what you do.
      19th October 2009
    4. CONTENT more important than PLATFORM – How you use not how it works.
      No one can tell you you are doing things wrong – so long as you remember the unwritten rules, the etiquette, of the place you’re in.
      19th October 2009
    5. Voice is all important: speak with the same voice across the web.
      Link up what you do: if you don’t spread your content, no one else will.
