  2. 2. We achieved an excellent rate of response directly from organisations
  3. 3. 29 different federation operators responded to the survey
  4. 4. There was clear interest in the survey at a strategic level
  5. 5. People do not want to see Shibboleth mothballed...
  6. 6. There is excellent support for continuing to develop Shibboleth
  7. 7. A large proportion of respondents would consider funding Shibboleth
  8. 8. Funding level proposals were very consistent: Individual - $100 Organisational - $1000 Federation - $5000 - $10000
  9. 9. Preferred models for a Phase2 Shibboleth were: Independent foundation Joining and existing foundation Continuing as an I2 project There was no clear preference
  10. 10. “ I would be concerned to see any move of Shibboleth away from its current non-commercial, open-source roots”
  11. 11. “ It is important that Shibboleth remains internationally relevant”
  12. 12. “ The development should be under development of well known  organization with long reputation  and not dependent on commerce  and establishment.”
  13. 13. “ Shibboleth has improved the delivery of services within the organisation I work for and I would like to see it's  use expanded within  education and further a field.”
  14. 14. “ I wish a long future the  shibboleth solution.  Although quite complex it is a very complete and robust.”
  15. 15. “ Throughout its existence, Shibboleth has been billed as a great open source solution to Identity Management, and ... it has lived up to that billing and more. We are extremely happy with the product, its development cycle, and organizational structure.”
