Current Advisory / Executive Work <ul><li>Moving towards better identity management within institutions: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Directory structure </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Defining users </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Managing non-members / additional authorised users </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Virtual Orphanage. </li></ul><ul><li>Encouraging institutions to think of themselves as Service Providers. </li></ul><ul><li>Federating our own collaboration tools (practising what we preach): WordPress, JISCmail, confluence, SiteCore, JVCS. </li></ul><ul><li>JISC as a VO. </li></ul>

Current Project Work <ul><li>Small scale studies on OpenID and Identity Metasystems (two new projects to answer the hype). </li></ul><ul><li>Identity Project highlighting the true status of IdM. </li></ul><ul><li>Expanding the use of attributes for information provision – personalisation / customisation experience (new project). </li></ul><ul><li>G-FIV-O: [Grouper to support Federated Identity for Virtual Organizations] investigating the use of next generation access management tools to support the use of collaborative tools for distributed organisations. </li></ul><ul><li>CUCKOO: as above but with a focus on ShARPE and MyVocs. </li></ul>

Requirements <ul><li>Continuing need to update and increase institutional understanding of a services / resources. </li></ul><ul><li>Time. </li></ul><ul><li>Get basic identity information right. </li></ul><ul><li>Get basic resource / licensing information right. </li></ul><ul><li>Tools that librarians can use. </li></ul><ul><li>Tools that users can use: the visible end! </li></ul>
