  • 1. More Article Writing Information Read all of the information below concerning the similarities and differences between articles and other types of formal writing. You will use this information to complete the assignment that is referenced at the end of this power point.
  • 2. Types of Feature Articles
    • There are seven types of feature articles but most feature articles have elements of more than one kind.
    • human interest feature - most common, successes, tragedies, struggles supported by faith or hope
    • personality feature - person has done something of interest, character sketch

    • "The Best" - products, restaurants, services, etc.
    • news feature - human-interest focus, human side to breaking news
    • how-to feature - complex process
    • past events feature - historical event or celebration, adds human face to history
    • informational feature - detailed information

    • As you now know, writing an article is different than writing an essay or report.  Below I have listed some ways you can add details to your article.
