5. What is a CLEC?
Fibernetics is a Competitve Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC), federally regulated
by the CRTC (Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission)
CLEC = Competitive Local Exchange Carrier
A CLEC is a telecommunications provider company (sometimes called a
"carrier") that competes with other, already established carriers
(generally the incumbent local exchange carrier (ILEC)).
6. What is an ILEC?
ILEC = Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier
The ILECs operate the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).
In Ontario and Quebec, the ILEC is Bell.
The ILECs are mandated to provide interconnection to approved federally
regulated CLECs to their established networks.
As an approved federally regulated CLEC, Fibernetics is fully interconnected with
the Bell wireline and digital network infrastructure.
7. Fibernetics Digital PBX
PBX = Private Branch Exchange
A private branch exchange (PBX) is an
office telephone system that allows
extension calling internally and a range of
other common features, such as
voicemail, call transferring, and paging.
8. Fibernetics Digital PBX
IP (Internet Protocol) PBX (Private branch exchange)
is a business telephone system designed to deliver voice over a data network
and interoperate with the normal Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).
Typical implementations utilize the data network only on the customer side, and
still require physical phone lines to the PSTN.
Hosted PBX
A business telephone system that delivers services from a
network server over the internet.
Fibernetics Digital PBX
A private branch exchange (PBX) that utilizes Fibernetics’ Private Managed
Digital Network, directly connected with the normal Public Switched
Telephone Network.
Fibernetics does not transit over the public internet.
9. Vo i c e O v e r I n t e r n e t P r o t o c o l
VoIP historically has not worked well for business due to
Voice Quality, Cost, and Survivability.
Voice Quality - Voice is a mission critical application in Business and the quality of your
phone lines reflects your business. Poor Voice Quality is not acceptable in Business
Cost - Delivering full quality voice over internet using the standard technologies
requires a lot of bandwidth. The cost of the data connectivity typically
outweighed any potential savings on phone lines.
Survivability - What happens if there is a network outage? A power failure?
10. The Fibernetics Solution
We leverage the fact that we are the phone company and also the
internet provider.
Our voice network connectivity is directly, physically, connected
to the Bell Network, and our data connection is directly,
physically, connected between the customer and our data
network.
Because of this, we can manage the connection from end to end,
and provide true Quality of Service for the voice calls.
We utilize implementation of proprietary and open-source
technology to leverage our network advantages, with a redundant
design that provides toll-quality voice.
11. The Fibernetics Solution
This technology allows us to lower the bandwidth
required for delivering toll quality voice, without
sacrificing any call quality.
We provide a level of survivability, at no extra
charge, that is not offered by ANY other carrier -
including the wireline providers - a guarantee that
even Bell cannot make, that a customers phone
will never be unanswered.

18. O n e C o m p a n y, O n e S o l u t i o n
Fibernetics is the phone system provider, the telephone
long distance company and the internet provider.
Although it may sound over-stated, what we are introducing is nothing
short of revolutionary in the business world.
We have built a product, with a level of features included, that does not
exist competitively anywhere, at any price.
There are some competitive systems that have different sets of some of
the included features of the Digital PBX, but none that offer all of these,
and certainly none that do so and charge $0 per month for phone lines!
We are changing the way that Businesses
think about voice communications.
