  • 1. Reggaetón Is a form of urban music that became popular with Latin American youth in the 1990’s.
  • 2. Did Reggaetón originate In Puerto Rico or Panama?
    • Reggaeton started in Panama and than it was know as raggae in Spanish.
    • Raggae in Spanish spread to Puerto Rico and after it exposure it became know as raggaeton.
  • 3. What is the misunderstanding of the origins of Raggaeton?
    • One misunderstanding about raggaeton is it the fact that it is similar to Latino hip hop or an Hispanic version of dancehall and hip hop.
    • Raggaeton is sexual and violent
    • However raggaeton has it owns specific beat, rhythm whereas hip hop Latino is music recorded by artist of Latino decent.

    • Reggaeton music is not a type of music I listen to on a everyday basis. However I do listen to it sometimes. One I do listen to it I enjoy the beat to the song the most. I don’t really understand most of what the artist is saying because they speak in spanish. Reggaeton artists have feature some hip hop artist even some reggae personal. I believe that nothing appeal to our sense more than sounds. And one of the best way to communicate is through music. Million if not billons of cd is sold every year music people enjoy listen to music. See you have to understand that music is the strong force we know today.
